Gratitude: More Than a Feeling

“Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.” ~ Napoleon Hill

This Morning…

The picture above is from my view across our golf course to Mount San Jacinto.

Snow at the top, emerald green here.

Jan’s ashes were spread at the top and seem to be glistening even now.

I am grateful for 30 fabulous years of marriage to a woman who was perfect for me… and found me perfect for her.

This morning, I took my advice from the other day and just took time to savor the view…

Savor the moment…

Savor the smell of the fresh grass with a little morning dew on it.

I feel alive.

Which, gets me to my point.

Being grateful is more than just a feeling, or as some say, an attitude.

Gratitude is a connection between the world and your soul.

It’s the connection that we feel… the presence of a spirit… the recognition that today, I am alive and am happy about it.

So many people lose their life to the “broken heart syndrome” where, when they lose their loved one, they too die shortly thereafter.

To me, the cure is to just look up, see what beauty is still in your life, and LIVE for it.

Forevermore, I will live to savor every precious moment in the day, and the beauty all around me.

God Bless,
Eric Richard Haas

GRACE NOTE: When was the last time you truly stopped to smell the roses… fresh-cut grass… or just savored every bite of your dinner? Might be a good time right now!
