Love With Grace™: Affection

by | Dec 4, 2022 | Love, marriage | 0 comments

“The fact is that people are good. Give people affection and security, and they will give affection and be secure in their feelings and their behavior.” ~ Abraham Maslow

Affection…

As a writer, I need imagination more than anything.

Creativity has to be a writer’s #1 saving Grace.

But as a man, true and honest affection is what I need most.

Real human touch.

An authentic smile.

From a woman who is Resilient and battle-worn, but has the capacity to find love and life in every experience.

And, by conspicuous extension, this new love must be also authentically grateful, positive, and empathetic.

So, Graceful Affection is My Target…

As I approach this new book, Love With Grace™, it has become obvious my story of moving on without Jan needs to be painfully real—an honest but engaging story of finding love in all the right places!

I have yet to meet anything close to even a cheap substitute for Jan.

The women “friends” I have encountered are, at best, a distraction or an interesting amalgamation of personalities that are devoid of honest affection.

Yes, at my age, women in the right “cohort” are going to have a lot of excess baggage, pains of their own, or hurts and despair they have yet to resolve.

If I were not examining my feelings for a new book—a completely different take on love at every age—I would just move to the beach, get a kitten, and declare this to be the shortest book I have ever penned.

No question, just two words are my target.

No, not “I do”…

I love these 2 words… “The End”!

And in this case, the words that must precede them are right out of a Disney fairytale…

“And they lived happily ever after….”
Eric Richard Haas

PS I think I will end each post with a Grace Note of my own. Grace will be proud.

Grace Note: Please take a moment to judge your most basic needs, not necessarily your wants. How close to the top is honest, graceful AFFECTION? When I was young it was maybe 7-8 out of 10. Today, it is my #1 with a bullet!
