My First Rememberance

“A long time ago there was an enchanted princess who lived and loved and then loved even more… until one day when she was called home to heaven. She left our Earthly bounds but still shines her soul upon us even now.

This beautiful woman was named Princess Janice and I was her captive Prince… held captive by her love, her laughter, and her Grace.

Today, I remember this beautiful woman who didn’t just become my wife, but walked with me for 30 years through the enchanted forest we called home. I pray all of us find such love and live, as we did, happily ever after.” ~ Eric Richard Haas, Your Eternal Hunray

A Moment Etched In Time…

Exactly one year ago, Jan passed our Earth bounds while in the loving arms of Kelli, our daughter, and Kasch, our wonderful grandson.

I laid my head against her breast as she drew her last breath and her heart beat for the final time.

The 3 of us, alone with the shell of Jan’s beautiful essence was unbearable.

Of course, we cried.

We poured out the undeniable pain of loss as a river of tears that seemed like it would flow forever.

Her time here with us was over, but her legacy for all humanity in grief and hopelessness was just beginning.

Much Has Happened in the Last Year…

Call it God’s Will, fate, or just the unfurling of the rest of my life, but I have been transformed by the loss of my beloved wife. This transformation began when Kent prompted me to just journal my feelings. It became a chrysalis of sorts when I was sent to the little Grace Church up the street to cry, as that is where I belonged.

Much like Dorothy in the Wizzard of Oz, I met Zeline, Cindy, Veronica, Luis, Francisco, Alberto, John, Bobby, Lupita, Elle, and a whole host of characters that each had something to add to my life and a lightening of my loss.

Each provided hope, compassion, and the motivation to find a new life in Grace.

On this journey, the Grace Initiative was born.

Today, we will launch this initiative as a way to help the world find life beyond grief… to learn to love and be loved again.

In a very real sense, today we will not just remember Jan’s influence, but use her influence to further her legacy.

In our sister book, Invest With Grace™, we talk about how we can turn our Time… Treasure… and Talent… into Legendary Wealth. Jan’s life, and her legacy will express this in a way I cannot yet begin to imagine.

Yes, I, our family and the world lost a woman a year ago that was worth remembering. Sumon created this memorial for me and I am sharing it with you now.

A long time ago, in a faraway land called South Dakota, a beautiful baby girl was born and abandoned for adoption to a loving family who raised her and gave her to me.

This is the Way We Were…

In loving memory,
Eric Richard Haas, January 9, 2023
