Love With Grace™: Mission

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” ~ Maya Angelou

An Unstoppable Sense of Mission & Purpose…

Imagine you fall in love with a cop, firefighter, or an F-22 Raptor pilot.

Or a woman who loves to craft incredible dinner parties, and is on a mission to achieve up to her full potential… potential well beyond yours.

Or a woman who would sit with you for hours waiting to see the first running of the rebuilt Union Pacific Big Boy (a very big old steam engine that can pull a very long train!)

But you talk. About nothing. About everything. Laughing. Crying. Loving.

You feel like you are always on a mission.

You feel like what you are doing together matters.

You know your life has meaning and a deep sense of purpose—even if you cannot articulate it perfectly.

Imagine 2 people who wake up in the morning knowing, absolutely knowing that each would make a difference in the other’s life…

Both knowing that, on that day, each would help the other make their dreams come true.

If I walk into the fire, I know she will walk into the fire as well.

She saves me, I save her back, and we both fall into each other’s arms each night, dead tired, physically busted, but KNOW…

Absolutely KNOW that the mission of making THAT day the best they could make it… was accomplished.

Together. Forever.

Even when darkness falls, money vultures circle high above, and every other person in your life has betrayed you… screwed you… and hung you out to dry…

She is there. Bruised, scared, and left for dead. Just like you.

Discovering that the woman of your dreams has the power of mission running deeply within her is a fabulous story in and of itself.

In my case, I found out Jan had a deep sense of mission and purpose coursing through her veins… simply by looking into her eyes.

Passion burning within was self-evident.

As I am writing this I am reflecting on my previous blog on ADVENTURE.

Maybe the trigger is that you can tell a woman with built-in mission by the adventures she is willing to embark upon.

Maybe you can tell by the way she simply looks at you and affectionately smiles… and simply says, “Let’s roll”!

No question, Graceful Mission is all important.

I must now ponder and pray. Where will I find this magical creature?

How will I let her know that I am HER mission, and she is MINE?

Having found it once, I will certainly know it when I see it.

I just hope the adventure of the hunt remains strong within me and I won’t give in to a cheap substitute for the real deal.

Clearly, this will take as much time as it needs, and I need to be smartly on the hunt every day now.

Grace Note: Sometimes the fear of loss stops us from pursuing that which we want most. Living an adventure means overcoming fear and doing it anyway. Is your mission wrapped in an adventure, but you just can’t seem to grab the courage to chase it… what do you think will happen to your dreams?
